Overview

Eli Lilly needed a Cut Wall installed adjacent to the existing CSX Railroad to facilitate a Parking Lot Expansion for their Campus.  Eli Lilly pre-qualified 4 General Contractors to bid on the project.  Those General Contractors were tasked with utilizing Eli Lilly Approved Subcontractors to bid and complete the job.  All 4 GC’s reached out to Beaty for Cut Wall Design-Build services.  The Bidding Documents for the project included a partially designed Cut Wall System.  During the bidding process, Beaty was able to identify several Cost Reduction options.  These options were presented within our Bid Proposal.  Ultimately, Beaty was the successful Cut Wall contractor.  Several of the Cost Reduction Options were selected by the Owner resulting in a ~25% cost reduction to the Cut Wall Scope.

Beaty was brought on board during Design Development Phase by Wilhelm Construction (General Contractor) to assist in determining the best Earth Retention solution for a proposed 20’+ deep excavation in downtown Indianapolis. Beaty Construction worked with Wilhelm to identify the best earth retention system to satisfy an accelerated construction schedule as well as minimize vibration impacts to the existing adjacent structures in downtown Indianapolis.

Beaty was brought on board during the Design Development Phase by Shiel Sexton (General Contractor) to assist in determining the best Earth Retention solution for their 20’ deep excavation in downtown Indianapolis based on site constraints, soil conditions, and budget.  Beaty worked with Shiel Sexton for 3 months in the preconstruction phase and ultimately completed the design and installation of the System for the project.
